I always guffaw at girls who report that a certain article of clothing (purchased at their local mall, no less) is "so in this season." Yes of course it's "in" this season because every retailer that caters to middle America will borrow (i.e. copy) cuts/palettes/patterns from fashion houses in order to sell the latest trend at an affordable price point.
